IDEATION
Experimental Ideation
Our design changed massively through multiple stages of iteration, however at the core of our experimentation we aimed to create a aesthetically iconic and organizationally functional jewelry holder to display your favorite pieces.
Finding Inspiration
Examples of material combinations, form experimentation, finishes and colors, joinery, and aesthetic.
Key Emerging Concepts
Concrete and wood combinations, a matte smooth finish, and a soft asymmetric geometric form.
In the process of creating DRAFT, we experimented with mold making and casting techniques.
Using Vytaflex-30 to create the mold and casting with mixture of Portland cement and mortar gave us the smooth concrete finish that we envisioned.
ITERATION
HOW COULD WE?
create something aesthetically pleasing, yet allowed the pieces on display to be the center of attention?
combine form with organizational function whilst retaining simplicity and sleekness?
create a form that could be efficiently replicated and mass produced in a timely manner?
Through countless digital and physical prototypes, we found a ideal form that responded to our constraints surrounding form, function, and process.
DRAFT was sold at the EPOP shop during the '23 Boulder Firefly Market, selling out in just two days
